Kimi Antonelli won an F1 race for the fourth time in his career.
Antonelli is the only driver in F1 history who won his first four victories in four consecutive races.
The previous Italian to win four consecutive F1 races was Alberto Ascari at the turn of the 1952 and 1953 seasons.
Sixteen drivers in F1 history have won four races in a row. Every one of them except Antonelli became world champion.
Antonelli is the only driver in F1 history to win four races as a teenager.
Antonelli recorded his eighth podium in his career.
Antonelli finished all this year’s races in the TOP2.

Charles Leclerc advanced to Q3 in Canadian qualifying only three times out of seven attempts in his career. In this respect, it is a very unlucky track for him. In 2025 and 2026, he finished eighth. He had a good result only in 2019 when he was third.

Since 2008, Fernando Alonso has always beaten his teammates in Canadian qualifying. Overall, in his career, he lost to teammates in qualifying at this track only twice (out of 21 starts) to Jarno Trulli and Lewis Hamilton.
Alonso qualified 19th for the 2026 Canadian GP. He performed worse in Canada only in his debut with Minardi in 2001 – 21st place.
Alex Albon finished only two of the six Canadian GPs he started. He scored points only in 2023 for seventh place.
Arvid Lindblad did not start the race due to a technical failure. Therefore, it will not be counted in his statistics. He had such bad luck at the very beginning of his F1 career.
Statistics about teams and engines
Mercedes recorded its 136th victory in Formula 1, including the sixth at the Canadian GP.
Mercedes recorded its 148th Pole Position in Formula 1, including the seventh at the Canadian GP.
Mercedes drivers occupied the entire front row at the start of an F1 race for the 86th time.
The Mercedes team has earned at least one podium in Canadian GP races since 2013. That is a total of 15 podiums in 12 consecutive races at the Montreal track. Most often, only one of their drivers stands on the podium.
Ferrari is the only team whose drivers score points in every F1 race this season.
Ferrari drivers finished in the same qualifying positions in Canada in 2025 and 2026.

Other statistical curiosities after the 2026 Canadian GP
The 2025 Canadian GP was the 45th F1 race at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal in history. Formula 1 has raced more often only at four European tracks: Monza (75), Monaco (71), Silverstone (60), and Spa-Francorchamps (58).
Eight drivers from four top teams fit into Q3 qualifying within just 0.398 seconds.
Only four drivers finished the race completing all laps, and the others were lapped. More drivers were lapped last time at the 2021 Dutch GP, when only the top three completed the full distance.
Colapinto’s sixth place is the best result for Argentinians in F1 since the 1982 South African GP, when Carlos Reutemann finished second.
Lap times, top speed, and pit stops at the 2026 Canadian GP
George Russell won qualifying for the 2026 Canadian GP with a time of 1:12.578. The Mercedes driver’s result was 2.338 seconds slower than the qualifying track record named after Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, which has belonged to Sebastian Vettel since 2019 – 1:10.240.
Kimi Antonelli set the fastest lap during the race. The Italian clocked 1:14.210 on lap 68. This is 1.132 seconds slower than the official track record named after Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal set in 2019 by Valtteri Bottas – 1:13.078.
The highest top speed during the race was achieved by Pierre Gasly. The Frenchman recorded 348.2 km/h at the top speed measurement point. According to telemetry, Gasly accelerated further after passing the measurement point and reached 350 km/h. In 2025, the maximum speed in the F1 race at the Montreal track was lower – 344.4 km/h by Gabriel Bortoleto.
The fastest pit stop during the 2026 Canadian GP was performed by the Racing Bulls team mechanics. On lap 30, they changed all wheels on Liam Lawson’s car in 2.20 seconds. The season record remains Ferrari’s result from the Japanese GP – 2.00 seconds. The overall Formula 1 record remains McLaren’s pit stop with Lando Norris at the 2023 Qatar GP – 1.80 seconds.
Attendance at the 2026 Canadian GP
Formula 1 announced during the broadcast that the weekend attendance at the 2026 Canadian GP was 360,000 fans. This is a new record for this event, improving the 2025 result by 8,000 fans. This was achieved thanks to the expansion of facilities for fans, with more seats especially for the wealthiest fans. Since last year, the event has a new promoter. The new company aims to match the best F1 races in terms of facilities for fans and VIP guests. Additional hospitality rooms for the wealthiest fans were created around the track. Overall, regular ticket prices also increased, but they were still sold out. Canada has always had high attendance, but since returning to the calendar in 2022, attendance records have been regularly set.

The organizers plan further modernization of facilities for fans. Additionally, they would like to organize F2 and F3 series races every year, which would allow turning the Canadian GP into a full four-day weekend with attractions on the track.
