Achievements and records of drivers who finished on the podium

Lando Norris won his second race this season, which was also his second victory at the Dutch GP and the 13th overall in his career.

Norris secured Pole Position for the second time this season, also his second at the Dutch GP and 18th overall in his career.

Norris won a race from Pole Position for the tenth time in his career.

Norris started from the front row for the 32nd time in his career.

Norris started from the front row in four consecutive Dutch GP races. He won twice from Pole Position. When starting from second place, he had unforced problems: in 2025 he retired due to a failure, and in 2023 he was seventh due to a wrong strategy during rain.

Norris recorded his 48th career podium.

Kimi Antonelli recorded his 13th career podium.

Antonelli stood on the podium ten times this year. In the other two races, he had serious technical problems and scored no points.

Antonelli only qualifies in the TOP4 positions this year.

Antonelli reached Q3 for the first time in qualifying and scored points in F1 at the Zandvoort circuit.

George Russell recorded his 30th career podium.

Russell won his third sprint this season.

Russell alternates between first and fourth place in sprints this year.

Achievements of other drivers

Lewis Hamilton finished all this year’s races in the TOP6 positions.

Hamilton led for at least one lap in 196 different F1 races. The Briton started 392 times, so he was leading in exactly every second race.

Hamilton has never won the Dutch GP. There is no other F1 circuit where he started six times and never won.

Charles Leclerc set the fastest lap in the race for the second time this season and the 13th time in his career.

Leclerc at the Dutch GP: twice finished third, twice fifth, and twice did not finish.

Liam Lawson started for Red Bull for the third time in his career. It was his best start by far, as he reached Q3 in qualifying for the first time and scored points in the race for the first time.

Lawson matched his best qualifying result this year – eighth position.

Lawson scored points for the first time in his third Dutch GP start.

Lawson scored points for the fourth team owned by the Red Bull group: AlphaTauri, RB, Racing Bulls, and Red Bull.

Fernando Alonso always scores points at the Dutch GP. He is the only driver who scored points in every race at Zandvoort from 2021 to 2026.

Alonso scored points at over 45 years old (he recently had a birthday). The Spaniard is 14th in the ranking of the oldest point scorers in F1 history. The previous driver to score points over 45 was Graham Hill at the 1974 Swedish GP.

Alonso recorded his best race result this season – ninth place.

Alonso was eliminated in Q1 in qualifying for the Dutch GP for the first time in his career.

Yuki Tsunoda scored points only once at the Dutch GP in the 2025 season out of six starts.

Arvid Lindblad ended his best career streak of six consecutive point-scoring races.

Sergio Perez failed to score points at the Dutch GP for the first time.

Carlos Sainz was always in the TOP8 at the Dutch GP driving for Ferrari, but never scored points driving for Williams.

Sainz failed to score points in seven consecutive races, his worst streak in his career.

Sainz was eliminated in Q1 in qualifying for the Dutch GP for the first time in his career.

Esteban Ocon did not finish due to a failure, ending his best career streak of 28 consecutive finished races. Only 11 times in F1 history has someone had a better streak.

Lance Stroll was eliminated in Q1 in qualifying for the 99th time in his career.

Oliver Bearman was eliminated in Q1 in every qualifying session at Zandvoort.

Max Verstappen crashed on the first lap in his last start at Zandvoort. In the previous five starts, he always finished in the TOP2 positions.

Verstappen was eliminated from the race on the first lap for the ninth time in his career.

Verstappen did not finish 1/3 of this year’s races.

Statistics regarding teams and engines

McLaren recorded its 205th Formula 1 victory, including the sixth at the Dutch GP.

McLaren recorded its 179th Pole Position in Formula 1, including the fourth at the Zandvoort circuit.

McLaren won the Dutch GP for the third consecutive time and also secured Pole Position there for the third consecutive time.

In every race this year, the Mercedes team has secured at least one podium place.

Since Mercedes began achieving great success in 2014 in Formula 1, its drivers have secured at least one Pole Position and one victory at all current calendar circuits with one exception: Zandvoort.

Red Bull drivers finished all Dutch GP starts in the TOP9 positions. The only exception is Verstappen in 2026, who did not finish.

Audi scored points for the fourth consecutive race.

The team based in Hinwil (Alfa Romeo / Kick Sauber / Audi) scored points at Zandvoort for the first time.

For the first time, all Aston Martin drivers were eliminated in Q1 in qualifying for the Dutch GP.

Alpine scored points in five out of six Dutch GP starts. Their drivers scored points 8/12 times in these races.

In 2025, Haas scored double points at the Dutch GP, while in 2026 their drivers retired due to technical reasons.

Cadillac is the only team whose drivers did not advance to Q2 in qualifying this year.

Cars with Mercedes engines have won 249 races in F1 history. Only Ferrari is better – 251 wins.

Other statistical curiosities after the 2026 Dutch GP

The Dutch GP debuted in Formula 1 in 1952. A total of 36 races for this title have been held, all organized at the Zandvoort circuit, using five different configurations of this venue.

For 42 years since the 1984 race, F1 races in the Netherlands have only been won by McLaren drivers (Prost, Lauda, Piastri, and 2x Norris) and Red Bull (3x Verstappen).

All races (and one sprint) at Zandvoort since the circuit’s return to the F1 calendar in 2021 have been won by Pole Position holders.

During six races at Zandvoort since the circuit’s return to the F1 calendar, 11 different drivers stood on the podium: 5x Verstappen, 2x Norris, Leclerc and Russell, and seven drivers once each.

Verstappen and Leclerc are the only drivers who have advanced to Q3 six times in qualifying at Zandvoort.

Hamilton is the only driver who has completed all laps this season.

Hamilton is the only driver who scored points in every race this season.

Out of 36 possible podiums this year: Mercedes secured 16, Ferrari nine, McLaren six, Red Bull four, and Alpine one.

Lap times, top speed, and pit stops at the 2026 Dutch GP

Lando Norris won qualifying for the 2026 Dutch GP with a time of 1:11.163. The McLaren driver’s result was 2.501 seconds slower than the qualifying record at Zandvoort set by Oscar Piastri in 2025 – 1:08.662.

Charles Leclerc set the fastest lap in the race. The Monegasque set a time of 1:14.230 on lap 60. This is 3.133 seconds slower than the official Zandvoort circuit record, set by Lewis Hamilton in 2021 – 1:11.097. In 2021, Hamilton pitted near the end of the race for a full set of soft tires to earn a bonus point, so his time is very good.

The highest top speed during the race was achieved by Pierre Gasly. The Frenchman recorded 349.6 km/h at the speed measurement point at the end of the start straight. This is the highest speed ever measured in F1 at this circuit. According to telemetry data, Gasly accelerated to 353 km/h, meaning he was still accelerating after passing the measurement point. In 2025, the maximum speed in the F1 race at the Dutch circuit was significantly lower at 337.0 km/h by Lance Stroll.

The fastest pit stop during the 2026 Dutch GP was performed by the Audi team mechanics. On lap 19, they changed all wheels on Nico Hulkenberg’s car in 2.30 seconds. The season record remains the Racing Bulls’ pit stop at the Hungarian GP, done in 1.99 seconds.

Attendance at the 2026 Dutch GP

The farewell of Formula 1 to the Zandvoort circuit was followed by a record number of fans throughout the weekend – 325,000. Organizers reported that on Thursday there were 15,000 people at the circuit, on Friday 100,000, and on Saturday and Sunday 105,000 each (Source). Tickets were sold out for Saturday and Sunday – organizers reported. The official capacity of the circuit is exactly 105,000 fans.

During every F1 visit from 2021 to 2026, a sellout was reported, but specific data broken down by days was rarely provided. In 2021, due to pandemic restrictions, the circuit capacity was reduced. In 2026, weekend attendance was 20,000 higher than the previous record. My calculations show that the difference was made by Friday, as last year also reported sold-out tickets for Saturday and Sunday and 15,000 fans on Thursday.
