Statistics related to Lando Norris, who became the world champion in 2025
Lando Norris became the Formula 1 world champion in 2025.
Norris became the 35. driver to become a Formula 1 world champion.
Norris became the 11. representative of Great Britain to become a Formula 1 world champion.
Norris became the eighth driver to become a world champion in McLaren colors.
Norris became world champion with a two-point lead – this is the smallest margin since the current scoring system was introduced in 2010.

Achievements and records of the other drivers who finished on the podium
Max Verstappen won his eighth race this season, it was also his fifth victory in the Abu Dhabi GP, and his 71. overall in his career.
Verstappen won an F1 race after starting from Pole Position for the 37. time.
Verstappen won the most races this year but did not become world champion. The last time such a situation occurred was in 2016, when Hamilton had the most wins and Rosberg became champion.
Verstappen secured Pole Position for the eighth time this season, it was also his fifth PP for the Abu Dhabi GP, and his 48. overall in his career.
Verstappen secured the most victories and Pole Positions in the entire field in 2025.
Verstappen has five Pole Positions and victories each in the Abu Dhabi GP, equaling Hamilton’s records for this race.
Verstappen recorded his 127. career podium.
After the summer break, Verstappen finished every race on the podium – ten in a row.

The 2025 season was definitely the worst in Lewis Hamilton’s career in terms of results and statistics. Despite the lack of good results, he took sixth place in the general classification, finishing one position higher than in 2024, which is his worst in this respect. Throughout his career, he is always in the TOP7 at the end of the season.
Hamilton is the record holder of the Yas Marina circuit in terms of the number of victories, podiums, Pole Positions, front rows, points, and laps led. Only in terms of fastest laps does he lose to Vettel.
Hamilton was eliminated in Q1 in qualifying in Abu Dhabi for the second time in a row.
Hamilton finished qualifying in Q1 for the third time in a row. In his career, he had an equally poor streak only in 2009.
Nico Hulkenberg started his 250. F1 race in his career.
Hulkenberg ended a streak of eight consecutive Q3 appearances in qualifying for the Abu Dhabi GP. In 2025, he was eliminated in Q1.
Gabriel Bortoleto equaled his career-best qualifying result – seventh place.
Carlos Sainz has joined five teams in his F1 career: Toro Rosso, Renault, McLaren, Ferrari, and Williams. Each of these teams scored significantly more points in Sainz’s first full season than the year before he joined.
Yuki Tsunoda scored only 33 points in 2025 (30 at Red Bull and 3 at Racing Bulls) and took 17. place in the general classification. The previous full-time Red Bull driver who performed worse in a whole season was Christian Klien in 2006, who finished the season in 18. position.
Tsunoda lost to his teammate in qualifying for the Abu Dhabi GP for the first time.
Kimi Antonelli became the last driver to use the DRS system during an F1 race.

Max Verstappen won the “Pirelli Pole Position Award” this year, which was introduced in 2014 and is given to the driver who secured the most pole positions in a given year (in 2024 it was uniquely called the “Pirelli Pole Man of the Year Award”). The Dutchman secured eight Pole Positions this season, ahead of Norris, who had seven. Verstappen won this award for the fourth time in his career, previously in 2021, 2023, and 2024. Overall, Lewis Hamilton has five wins, Max Verstappen four, Charles Leclerc two, and Nico Rosberg one.
Lando Norris won the “DHL Fastest Lap Award” this year, awarded to the driver who sets the fastest lap during a race the most times during the season. The Briton set the fastest laps six times this year, the same result as Oscar Piastri, but Norris had better subsequent times. The “DHL Fastest Lap Award” was first awarded in 2007. It has been won most often by: Hamilton six times, Vettel three times, and Raikkonen, Verstappen, and Norris twice each. Webber, Alonso, Rosberg, and Bottas have one victory each.
Ferrari won this year’s “DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award” given for the fastest pit stops throughout the season. This award was introduced in 2015, and its first winners in order were Ferrari, Williams, and Mercedes. From 2018 to 2024, Red Bull always won. Since 2017, the scoring system leading to the winner has been changed, calculated in a similar way to how points are awarded in races. In 2025, Ferrari scored 559 points in this classification, and McLaren was second with 410.

There have been 17 F1 qualifying sessions at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi; Red Bull drivers have always advanced to Q3 in all of them: 34 out of 34 cases.
Tsunoda took tenth place in qualifying, equaling Perez’s result from 2024. These are the worst results for Red Bull drivers in qualifying in Abu Dhabi.
McLaren celebrates winning both championship titles; the last time they had such success was in 1998.
