Sir Lewis Hamilton is one of the most interesting figures in Formula 1. He possesses great talent and at the same time defies the stereotype of a typical driver. After moving to Ferrari, the driver – contrary to the expectations of fans, especially those placing betting bets – ended up off the podium. What was behind the unsuccessful season and will it be better in the current one?

Team change – a new beginning
The world of sports is full of frequent changes, and their reasons are varied. In this case, the amount offered to Hamilton played a major role. There is nothing strange about this. Sport at a high level is undoubtedly a great passion and distinction for athletes, but let us not forget that it is also work, like any other.
The driver moved to the Ferrari team a year ago. Unfortunately, it was also the first season in years when he failed to reach the podium. One could expect that after 12 years of driving for Mercedes, the changes somewhat overwhelmed him. Maybe he tried to prove that the transfer was a good decision and as a result, stress took its toll?
Even the best driver needs time to find his way in a new situation. A new team, a new vehicle, perhaps a slightly different strategy… Each of these things can prove decisive. After all, there are many talented drivers on the track, and the battle between leaders can be fierce.
Forecasts – on the plus side?
Hamilton is by nature a positive person and ready to take on challenges. When asked about his future plans, he responds that despite last year’s stumble, nothing has changed and he intends to race as before. Challenges motivate him, and the season is set to be full of challenges! A return to full form doesn’t have to take long.
If Hamilton just needs to adapt to new conditions, he may already be able to drive as he did before. As he himself claims, he enters the new season regenerated and with hope for victory. He constantly thinks about the entire team, not just his own role. So one can expect that his teammates are also eagerly awaiting his races.
High expectations
The professional community supports Hamilton much like the fans do. Jenson Button – a former F1 world champion – mentioned in one of his interviews that it was difficult for him to watch his former teammate dropping out of the championship. He has great respect for him both professionally and privately. He also easily saw the great disappointment on Hamilton’s face when the results became clear.

The former champion believes that the new rules that have been established for the current season may prove beneficial for the driver. This includes, among other things, a change in the requirements for the cars – they will be slightly lighter and narrower, which is associated with more agile driving and reduced costs.
On one hand, we expect Hamilton to make a quick return to the podium. On the other hand, the driver is also a human being and should enjoy the pleasure of driving (Hamilton has repeatedly said that he is happy to be able to test cars that the entire team puts their heart into).
The aforementioned Jenson Button believes that the driver will do great wherever he decides to work. However, we hope to see him on the F1 podium many more times.
