The International Automobile Federation FIA published the entry list for the 2026 Formula 1 season on December 19, 2025. Changes to the entry list will obviously be possible at a later date, e.g., due to drivers or new title sponsors. The full official table can be seen on the FIA website here – the table is also updated there during the season.

In 2026, Lando Norris took advantage of the world champion’s privilege and will use number 1. Max Verstappen is the only driver on the grid who took advantage of the possibility introduced by the FIA to change a permanent number and from 2026 will use number 3, whereas previously his permanent number was 33. Arvid Lindblad will debut in the 2026 season, having chosen number 41.
An interesting fact for detail fanatics is that Isack Hadjar has opted out of including his middle name on the official entry list. Fernando Alonso has given up his full surname on the entry list; he was previously entered as “Fernando Alonso Diaz”. Andrea Kimi Antonelli is entered in this form; for most of his career, he used two names. During the 2025 season, he gradually began to be called “Kimi Antonelli” everywhere, meaning the second name is more important.
Information about F1 team names for the 2026 season
On the entry list for the 2026 Formula 1 season, there have been several changes in team names, and we also have the debut of an eleventh team.
After a break of over a dozen years, McLaren has secured a title sponsor. From 2026, the full name of this team is “McLaren Mastercard F1 Team”. McLaren also made a cosmetic change to the final part, as in the previous season it was “McLaren Formula 1 Team”, and from 2026 it will be abbreviated to “F1 Team”. For sponsorship reasons, the full name of the Haas team has also changed. The American team was called “MoneyGram Haas F1 Team” until the end of 2025. From 2026, the title sponsor of this team will be Toyota GAZOO Racing, so the new full name of the team is “TGR Haas F1 Team”.

Williams introduced a minor correction to its full name in 2026. In 2025, the full name of this team is “Atlassian Williams Racing”, and from 2026 they will be called “Atlassian Williams F1 Team”. Williams made this change because currently their company only deals with Formula 1, whereas previously the activity was broader. From 2026, Atlassian also became the title sponsor of the team’s car names, which will be called “Atlassian Williams”. This is the first such situation in the history of this team.
In 2026, the Kick Sauber team goes down in history, having been taken over by the Audi group. The full name of the Hinwil-based team from the new season is “Audi Revolut F1 Team”, and they will also have a new title sponsor. The Sauber name does not disappear completely from F1; Audi intentionally leaves it in the name of the company that manages the team.
In 2026, a new Cadillac team will debut in Formula 1, which is the only one without a title sponsor. The full name of this team is “Cadillac Formula 1 Team”. An interesting fact is that the TWR company, which owns the team, is in the company name, but they opted out of adding this part to the team name.
The Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari, Racing Bulls, Aston Martin, and Alpine teams have not changed their names for the 2026 season. The only team without a title sponsor is Cadillac. The American team may still announce one, in which case the entry list will be updated. They have until the start of the season to do so.
Other important information
The table shown above is missing two columns that are on the official FIA entry list, but I decided to omit them to make my table clearer. One of them contains the names of the companies that own the individual teams. These names are long and usually similar to the team names. These are not names that fans use on a daily basis. It is only worth remembering that the “Sauber” part remained in the name of the company operating the Audi team. The full name of the company is “Sauber Motorsport AG”. The operator of the new Cadillac team is the company “TWR Cadillac Formula 1 Team LLC”.
The entry list also includes the names of the engines that individual teams will use, but I also omitted this information to make the table clearer. In 2026, the engines will be called: Mercedes, Red Bull Ford, Ferrari, Honda, and Audi.
