Maciej Gładysz with his first victory in Formula 3 and a big leap in the standings

Was this a breakthrough weekend for Maciej Gładysz in Formula 3? The Pole won the main race during the weekend at Silverstone and moved up to sixth place in the overall standings. We are already halfway through the current F3 season and Gładysz’s situation looks very good.

For various reasons, Maciej Gładysz’s results this Formula 3 season have been quite variable, but I hope that the breakthrough weekend at Silverstone will mean that from now on they will only be good. The Pole took eighth place in qualifying on Friday. On Saturday, he secured sixth position in the sprint, losing very little time to the podium positions. In the main race on Sunday, he finished fourth, but immediately moved up to third when one of his rivals received a penalty. Because of this, he made it to the podium ceremony at the last moment. In the following hours, more drivers were penalized and he won the race. The Pole showed great pace throughout the weekend. Remember that in Formula 3 there are 30 drivers competing and qualifying positions are often decided by thousandths of a second because the field is very evenly matched.

Maciej Gładysz became the first Pole in the history of the current F3 series to win the main race (in 2025 Roman Biliński won the sprint). He has a real chance to be the first Pole to finish the season in the TOP10 of the overall standings if he maintains his form until the end of the season. Such results will certainly make him noticed and facilitate a possible promotion to Formula 2 in the future.

Below, see what the man himself said about it in a submitted statement.

Maciej Gładysz wins in FIA Formula 3 at Silverstone

18-year-old Maciej Gładysz won the Sunday race of the FIA Formula 3 series at the British Silverstone circuit.

The young driver from Tarnów fought for victory until the last meters, crossing the finish line in fourth place in the leading group. Shortly after the race ended, the judges penalized one of the Pole’s rivals, which promoted him to third place and secured his first podium in his debut FIA F3 season. A few hours after the race, penalties were also given to two other rivals of the ART Grand Prix and ORLEN Team protégé, which gave him his first FIA F3 career win and moved him up to sixth place in the overall standings.

The races of the sixth round will take place in two weeks at the Belgian Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

“A few hours ago I thought nothing would top my first FIA F3 podium today, but on the way to the airport I received information that I was promoted to first place,” says Maciej Gładysz. – Many drivers received penalties today for non-compliant cars or illegal driving. Together with the ART Grand Prix team, we worked perfectly both on and off the track, so I would like to thank once again both my team and my closest ones, who also work very hard with me every day. I will remember this first FIA F3 victory for a long time not only because of such unusual circumstances but also because of our hard work. I hope that together we will give Polish fans many more reasons to celebrate.”

Maciej Gładysz’s partners in the 2026 season are SOLBET, Bruk-Bet, ZEN.COM, Maxton Design, ORLEN, the Polish Motor Association, and Małopolska.

Additional information

There are only four rounds left this year for Formula 3 drivers during the Belgian GP, Hungarian GP, Italian GP, and Spanish GP at the new Madring circuit (where three races will take place). Traditionally, the Formula 3 season ends quickly, in mid-September. Originally, the season was to have ten rounds, but the April visit to Bahrain was canceled. At this moment, the situation is 50/50, but Bahrain may return to the F1 calendar occupying the first weekend of October. It is hard to say whether Formula 3 would also compete then. Due to the ongoing exchange of fire in the Persian Gulf, I currently do not expect Bahrain to return. The F3 season will probably have only nine weekends, so there is no room for mistakes because every appearance is important.

Because F3 seasons always end quickly, drivers from this series quickly start looking for places to compete the following year. It often happens that drivers guest compete in other series already at the end of the year, organize private tests, etc. This is a key moment and I believe in Maciej Gładysz’s team here, who in previous years often tested and quickly signed contracts for starts in subsequent years.

Many different Polish drivers compete in junior series on the way to Formula 1. The most important information about them can be found in the article category: Polish racing drivers on the blog.
