Roman Biliński is the first Pole to compete in the current Formula 2 (existing since 2017). He races for the DAMS Lucas Oil team, and his teammate is Ferrari junior Dino Beganovic. Biliński took second place during the sprint in Monaco, which is definitely a standout moment in his F2 struggles so far. Biliński likes this track because he also stood on the podium in Formula 3 competition last season.
The support races for the British GP concluded the first half of Formula 2. There are still seven rounds and 14 races ahead for the drivers. Biliński has scored points nine times this year, including in the last five consecutive races. Unfortunately, apart from the second place in Monaco, Biliński mostly earns small points. He currently has 22 on his account and ranks 16th in the overall standings. The situation in Formula 2 is very close; he is only eight points short of tenth place in the standings, so there are definitely significant opportunities for advancement. The start of the season for the Pole was uneven for various reasons, which determines his current position.
Below, see what the interested party himself said about the recent round at the Silverstone circuit in a submitted statement.
Roman Biliński: “It was a successful weekend. We still have a lot of potential to unlock”
Roman Biliński ended the Formula 2 weekend at Silverstone with more points on the board. The Pole earned two points in the sprint and four in the main race, confirming his increasingly stable form and regularity in the fight for top positions. The DAMS Lucas Oil driver is sure that this is not all he and the team are capable of.
After the Silverstone weekend, Roman Biliński admitted that although he rates the weekend positively, the main race turned out to be much tougher than he expected.

– Overall, it was a successful weekend. First, we managed to bring points from the sprint. Then there was the main race, which turned out to be more demanding because we lacked the pace to fight for higher positions. I think that both from my driving and from the car, more can still be extracted, so I am looking forward to the Spa round with optimism. Now the most important thing is to keep working hard, draw as many conclusions as possible, and do the best job before the next race. Huge thanks to the entire DAMS team for their hard work. We will not stop pushing and will keep fighting – summed up Roman Biliński.
The next round of the Formula 2 World Championship will take place at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. Roman hopes that the experience gained at Silverstone will translate into even better results in the upcoming races.

Additional information
Formula 2 drivers still face competition during seven rounds at the Belgian GP, Hungarian GP, Italian GP, Spanish GP, Azerbaijan GP, and at the turn of November and December the Qatar GP and Abu Dhabi GP. The calendar of this series is specific because there is nearly a two-month break before the final two rounds. In recent years, changes in line-ups have occurred during this break; younger drivers from other series signed contracts and “pushed out” regular F2 drivers, who thus dropped out of the field. This is the most important moment regarding securing a good starting position for the next year. Therefore, it is very important for Biliński to maintain form during the next five rounds; at least one standout result, i.e., a fight for a podium position, would also be helpful.
