Six out of eight rounds of the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) planned for this season are behind us. Jan Przyrowski currently holds 14th place in the general classification, and I am counting on a stronger finish to the season from him during the September rounds.

Last weekend, drivers of the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) competed in two races at the Paul Ricard circuit in France. Below, you can see what Jan Przyrowski said about this round in the submitted press release. And at the end, you can read my comment.
Jan Przyrowski with double points at France’s Paul Ricard
The Polish driver of the RPM team scored points in two races in Le Castellet. Jan Przyrowski had a solid race weekend during the sixth round of the Formula Regional European Championship (FREC). The protégé of the ORLEN Motorsport Academy improved by as many as seven places from his starting position in one race.
France marked by steady progress
This time, drivers and teams had less time on track to prepare for qualifying and races. On Friday, two practice sessions took place, during which the 17-year-old from Rossoszyca was in the TOP10 for a long time. However, not everything went smoothly during the final outings, resulting in 17th and 20th places. In qualifying, the pace improved, but rivals also sped up.
Ultimately, ninth place in Group A and a start from 17th on the grid. In the first race, however, Jan Przyrowski did what he could and moved up to 13th place. Some rivals, however, made mistakes and broke the rules, and in the evening, after the results of the first race were updated, the Pole was already eleventh. Shortly thereafter, another incident was analyzed and consequences were drawn, and the RPM driver advanced to tenth place. Thus, Saturday ended with a seven-place gain and one point.
Sunday brought improved performance
Jan Przyrowski, together with engineers and mechanics, looked for ways to be able to drive much faster. In the second qualifying session, the direction of changes proved correct, and the 17-year-old often recorded a record second sector, and after the first runs, everyone was close to each other. Ultimately, after the final attempts, Przyrowski placed fifth in his group. This result translated into ninth on the starting grid.
During the second race, the protégé of the ORLEN Motorsport Academy found himself in a large group of drivers fighting for seventh place. The differences between the drivers were very small, and everyone was looking for their chances. Ultimately, the pace was very similar, and it was difficult to make progress. The Pole crossed the finish line in ninth place and earned valuable two points for himself and the RPM team.
Last weekend, our compatriot was again significantly faster than his RPM teammates. This resulted in finishing the races several positions higher.

Jan Przyrowski satisfied with points, but also with a sense of unfulfillment
“The weekend didn’t start perfectly for us, and we had to look for different solutions. After the first qualifying session, our situation became complicated, but we intended to keep trying. In the race, I gained four positions and tried to keep pushing. The differences weren’t big, and it turned out that rivals were making mistakes and receiving penalties. I later learned that we had a point for tenth place. And in the second qualifying session, I pushed as hard as I could, which resulted in fifth place in the group and a start from P9. I approached the second race calmly and knew that some fighting awaited us, and that’s exactly what happened,” – said Jan Przyrowski after the round at Paul Ricard.
“Ultimately, we’re taking three points from France; it was a bit better than in Hungary, but I’m still aiming much higher. Now a longer break awaits us, and I hope we’ll come back stronger and fight for podiums. The FREC series is going on an approximately 1.5-month break from racing. The return is scheduled for September 4-6, when the seventh round will take place at the Autodromo di Imola Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Most likely, two test sessions will be held the day before the race weekend, as the Tatuus T-326 has not yet been tested at this Italian venue.
Jan Przyrowski’s goal is further progress, which will help him and the RPM team achieve a successful finish to the 2026 season. There are still many points to be gained, and the fight for the top ten in the general classification is within reach of the 17-year-old from Rossoszyca.

Jan Przyrowski debuted in the FREC series during the final round of the 2025 season. This year he started by competing in the regional series in the Middle East, where he took sixth place in the general classification. He also participated in tests, so he was well prepared to drive in the FREC series throughout the 2026 season. His first starts this year were unsuccessful for various reasons, but in subsequent rounds, he has been regularly scoring points. Before the two final rounds, he holds 14th place in the general classification, which is distant but with chances for advancement with good results. The Pole is, however, the clear leader of the RPM team, which occupies the last place in the general classification. The potential of this team largely influences his results.
I expect Przyrowski to aim for continued driving in the FREC series in 2027, and I hope he manages to join a better team. The season ends in early September, so this will be decided quickly, and he needs to be active in the transfer market. The Pole previously spent two seasons in Spanish Formula 4, and the second was definitely better for him – he finished on the general classification podium. I hope it will be similar in the FREC series. Formula 3 is higher, and in my opinion, that’s currently too high a bar for him.
